Julian Argüelles is a musician with a very close relationship with Portugal, where he currently lives, and in particular with Guimarães Jazz, where he performed many times with very different projects. In 2020, Guimarães Jazz will première the project “Aqui e Agora”. From this septet, led by Argüelles and featuring a group of important musicians from the Portuguese jazz scene (among them, saxophonist João Mortágua, vibraphonist Eduardo Cardinho and guitarist André Fernandes), will be the vehicle to the interpretation of post-bop compositions, mixing the canon o contemporary jazz with the influences of sonorities from other musical latitudes.
