Design is the starting point for the execution of most embroidery in Portugal. The richness of Guimarães Embroidery lies in its multiple influences over the centuries. Because it has been permeable to changing times, it is inspiring that it can be revisited by artists and creators, who bring new forms that are closer to our current sensibilities and tastes. Cecília Lages presents the result of her approach to Guimarães Embroidery in the form of a small book, in which she deconstructs the graphic compositions of embroidery, proposing new possibilities for creation.
