Teatro Oficina Readings

With Rebeca Cunha, on Quay West, by Bernard-Marie Koltés
Readings

The Teatro Oficina reading programme will go beyond simply gathering around dramatic texts. We believe people are the best texts, and it will be our guests who choose what we read together, discuss, and, ultimately, cross out. The guests will include familiar faces from our Teatro Oficina; as for the venues, we’ll try to spread these meetings across different corners of A Oficina—seeing if, beyond known faces, we can offer Teatro Oficina new scenery too.

The third session brings us Bernard-Marie Koltés, chosen by Rebeca Cunha—an actor who’s known A Oficina since childhood. The chosen play, Quay West, deals with the incommunicability between social classes within the same society, from migrants to the powerful, trapped together in a warehouse. And to give a little fresh air to this timeless yet timely issue, we’ll gather outdoors, in the courtyard of the Casa da Memória.
