As part of the MICA program – Change and Creative Intervention in Craft – artist Manuel Fonseca, from Guimarães, will create and exhibit a series of works focusing on one of the most iconic pieces of Guimarães’ traditional crafts: the Cantarinha dos Namorados (Lovers’ Pitcher). A collection of functional sculptures will be created and produced in collaboration with other artisans from various practices and fields of knowledge. Bringing together artists, designers, and master craftsmen, this project fosters synergies that the artist believes have immense potential, aiming to generate new approaches to sculptural creation.
