The final exercise of the Teatro Oficina workshops is based, this time, not on a dramatic repertoire text, but on three conceptual references exploring the ideas of walking, running, and moving on foot. The dramaturgy will be developed from Walking: A Philosophy by Frédéric Gros, Walkscapes: Walking as an Aesthetic Practice by Francesco Careri, and Wanderlust: A History of Walking by Rebecca Solnit. It will be interwoven with contributions from the working group and guided by a desire to reflect on the speed of bodies in public space and the race against the clock that dominates private time. The truth is, we’ve been saying everything has been accelerating since the Industrial Revolution. Isn’t it possible to pause? That’s what we feel like asking.
The performance itself will be built around the phenomenon that best captures the contemporary obsession with well-being and self-improvement: run clubs. Sportswear, energy bars, and isotonic drinks to replenish electrolytes after sweaty kilometres on a Saturday morning. A voracious hunger for connection, for community, for purpose, for being trendy. The conclusion: if you can, use the code #Oficina10 for discounts on creatine, magnesium, and the will to live. And if you can’t, recommend it anyway.
Entrada livre, até ao limite da lotação da sala.
