2nd Anniversary of Centro de Artes e Ofícios dos Fornos da Cruz de Pedra (CAOFCP)
Event
From hand to hand, with our minds and ears connected to our hearts, we will celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Centro de Artes e Ofícios dos Fornos da Cruz de Pedra (CAOFCP) through a day of shared experiences centred on words, sound, craftsmanship, and emotion. Throughout the day, our focus will remain on the renewal of ceramics and on reimagining what this ancestral craft can become through the crossing of disciplines, practices, and people.

Contarinhar – A Poetic Visit
Inês Lago
All ages
Drawing on the winning texts from the first edition of the Contarinhar Literary Competition, organised by A Oficina and the Rimas & Tabuadas bookshop, Inês Lago invites participants on a poetic journey through the spaces of the Centre for Arts and Crafts at the Cruz de Pedra Kilns.

Ceramic Musical Instrument Workshop
The Sound of the Earth
Bruna Freitas
Ages 3+
In this workshop, we will explore the senses through the creation of ceramic musical instruments, discovering the relationship between hands, material, and vibration. Through touch, gesture, and the rhythm of clay, each participant will shape a unique instrument where form and sound come together.
2:00 pm
Community Workshop
MICA Artistic Residency
Ages 12+
The Centre for Arts and Crafts at the Cruz de Pedra Kilns hosted a new edition of MICA – Change and Creative Intervention in Craftsmanship. During this artistic residency, a ceramic artist and a textile artist explored the possibilities of dialogue between clay and thread, in a creative process opened to the community through this participatory workshop.
4:00–5:00 pm
Demonstration
Traditional Musical Instruments from Alto Minho
Zuca Truca – Rafael Freitas and Mariana Campos
All ages
This demonstration introduces the main traditional instruments of the Minho region, their context, and the repertoire associated with them—from well-known instruments such as the concertina and the cavaquinho to more distinctive ones like the sarronca, triquelitraque, and zuca-truca. More than twenty instruments that form part of our collective memory will be presented for visitors to discover and try.
5:00–6:00 pm
Workshop
Sound Toys
Zuca Truca – Rafael Freitas and Mariana Campos
Ages 8+
In this workshop, participants will create ancestral musical instruments using natural materials. Flutes, whistles, ocarinas, and bird calls will be crafted from reeds, oak galls, acorns, bay leaves, and other natural materials.
6:00 pm
Música Murmura
Ana Beiradomar and Pedro João
All ages
Murmura is a duo dedicated to creating and performing songs. By valuing both lyrical and instrumental expression, they explore the relationship between traditional music and the contemporary independent music scene. Words, music, and sound come together to create intimate sonic landscapes where the popular imagination is evoked. The turning earth carries an endless source of songs that, like prayers, mantras, and chants, fill our days with meaning, colour, and mystery.
