Seiva is one of the most unique and international bands in the folk scene in Portugal. They started their career in 2014 with the goal of making a musical project totally based on the Portuguese oral tradition. Heirsof Dazkarieh, Vasco Ribeiro Casais and Joana Negrão brought to Seiva their will to explore even further the Portuguese traditional music present in the worksongs, in the adufes and tambourines, in the songs of faith and in instrumentssuch as the cavaquinho, viola braguesa and Portuguese bagpipes. Using everything and mixing it with its original themes, with electronics and electricity, without modesty or purity, Seiva make the Portuguese roots gain a whole new meaning nowadays.
Os Seiva são uma das mais originais e internacionais bandas do panoramafolk em Portugal. Iniciaram a sua carreira em 2014 com o objetivo de fazer umprojeto musical totalmente baseado na música de tradição oral portuguesa.Herdeiros dos extintos Dazkarieh, Vasco Ribeiro Casais e Joana Negrão trouxerampara os Seiva a sua vontade em explorar ainda mais a música tradicionalportuguesa, presente nas canções de trabalho, nos adufes e pandeiros, nascanções de fé e em instrumentos como o cavaquinho, a viola braguesa e as gaitasde fole. Utilizando apenas instrumentos tradicionais e misturando-os com osseus temas originais, com eletrónica e eletricidade, sem pudores nem purismos,os Seiva fazem com que as raízes portuguesas ganhem um novo significado nosdias de hoje.
The concerts on October 15th will have free entrance. Tickets must be picked up on the same day, during the opening hours of the Vila Flor Cultural Center ticket office and are limited to two tickets per person.
